Down the skipway: Level y ffordd

Level y Ffordd was the main tramming level of the mine in the last years of working. Laden ore trucks were raised up an incline from the level of the public road to the hoppes abobe the dressing floors. This was powerd by an 165HP Pelton turbine which also generated compressed air for the mine. The incline is a prominent feature east of the mill seen on old photographs of the mine.
