Clynelish Quarry, 1.3 km. west-north-west of Brora. Sutherland. Boulder clay, a glacial deposit resting on sands and fine-grained siliceous white sandstone (Clynestone). A manual winch-operated crane is on the left, a larger powered crane right of centre. The buildings on the extreme right could be the dressing sheds. The sandstones are of the Clynekirkton Sandstone Formation of Corallian (Upper Jurassic) age. Photo P000007. Reproduced with the permission of the British Geological Survey ©NERC.
