Clipstone Colliery Power House 1929.

This is the power house that would have supplied power to the Top Hard seam at 2200 volts to power the Haulages shown in the 1930s. There were three turbo alternators and one reciprocating steam alternator whos double expansion cylinders can be seen at the far right of the photograph. Also just out of view on the left was a rotary converter to provide 110 volts for surface lighting and also the Lamproom which at the time used series charging.
