Carleon Serpentine Factory, c1893

The remains of the Poltesco Serpentine Company''s presence in Carleon Cove, probably just at the time of closure in 1893. The chimney stack draughted a small steam engine used for cutting the stone, whilst the waterwheel was used for less strenuous activities. Only ruins remain today of all but the 3 story warehouse and pilchard round.
