The multitude of bracken hides the spoil heap, which mostly consists of deads of limestone & a black shale. There is very little mineral worth to be found in the tip. The ruin of the blacksmith shop is a good guide to explorers looking for the level mouth, which from here is past the building, and slightly around the corner. There is a strong flow of water exuding from it.
