This sculpture was erected in Fort William High Street by the council some years ago. It was just about universally hated and eventually moved to the entrance to Ballachulish Slate Quarry - the sculpture is supposedly about slate quarrying which has not connection with Fort William. Surprisingly for a monument dedicated to slate quarrying, it is made of stone! It also some trivial mistakes in the inscription.
