A walk with the ball n chain to Rainton Meadows, (she wanted to visit nearby Joes Pond) . It looks slightly bare compared to my last visit 2014. I had heard that the site had been completely flattened? However judging by the stone that''s been tipped perhaps shaft backfilling is soon to follow? Also the metal fencing has been repaired, much of it had been removed by locals.
