No 1 and 2 show busy scene with reservoir, gasometer but only a few houses "Lumley Park row". The Wagonway that ran through the site to The 9th pit has already been dismantled (note the use of a Tunnel, this is a very deep cutting) , whilst the 3rd pit has been marked as Disused but still has part of its railway. Today the site of 1st and 2nd Pit is a small settlement complete with Miners Bungalows with very little remains of its past. The 3rd Pit site has a number of trees planted on its former waste heap surrounded by a farmers field.
