If i remember correctly,this is a BJD Ace double ended ranging drum shearer,disk diameter was aprox 5' pick to pick.It could be driven with normal controls or with remote controls, one for each disk.The coal face chocks and panzer advance could also be operated remotely via sensors as the shearer past by.
