Upper Mills from floor 9 looking north

There were two ancient mills on this floor (Hollands' floor 4 - later floor 8) the oldest on the left was a slate sawmill with lean-to additions for dressing probably in the late 1850s. The "New Mill" centre was an integrated saw and dressing mill of somewhat later. Probably equippped with Mathews' dressers. Left foreground is the foot of a short incline from floor 9.
