The 1883 Platt shaft winding engine house

The Platt winding house (reputed to be the oldest surviving structure on site) constructed 1883 with the emergency winder pad in the foreground - note the windows for the ropes to pass through the engine house from the emergency winder to the sheaves. (August 8th, 1978)
