Start of the walk

Having first visited this location in 1976, it has steadily deteriorated since. Sadly it has now become a tourist nature eco walk area hence this newly erected sign. Loads of details about nature but little except dire warnings on the mining. They even dragged oxy-acetylene gear all over the mountains cutting down cableways 'in case they fall'. Shame but I suppose that is progress.
This was our last visit here in summer 2006.
