South Crofty 1945

South Crofty Mine, Carn Brea. South Crofty Mine: horizontal quartz veins. Horizontal quartz veins in granite country rock, exposed at the shaft station of the 290 fm. level, Robinson's Shaft. The veins, which pre-date the lodes, carry also feldspar, wolfram and more rarely fluorspar.
