Skears Limekilns

A bank of four Kilns below the quarry. The oldest is the rightmost of the intact kilns and was first built in the 18th century, rebuilt in 1939. The middle kiln was built in the second half of the 19th century and the leftmost in the early 20th century.
The collapsed kiln at the other end was built in 1941 and they continued in used until 1960 using limestone from the quarry above.
