Pleasley Colliery

Pleasley Colliery seen from the upcast side (South Pit). The Colliery closed in 1983 and was scheduled just before complete oblivion. It languished in a derelict condition for some years but is now being restored by the Friends of Pleasley Pit. There are two steam winding engines in the buildings. In addition, the pile in the foreground is a steam winder from Westthorpe Colliery, Killamarsh.
