Metal structures

There are two floors in the building, the lower one being half-underground. Peering through a hole to the lower floor, I could see these things. I thought the further one might be a coal tub, but I had a closer look and it definately is not. Maybe something to do with signalling?

  • Possibly cabinets for electrical switchgear. Pumping was continued into the 1980's, to protect Collieries further down towards Wakefield. It's the reason the winding house survived... (inbye)
