Large engine shaft in 1970s

Judging by contemporary images, this is now covered by a large grille but in the "good ole days" it was open to the sky. The shaft is close by Seedlow Belland ground (per Rieuwerts Lead mining in Derbyshire Vol 1 2007 page 170). For the record, the photograph was taken on an MPP 5"x4" technical camera!
