Lago Somido

Large amounts of waste material were formed, and in process completely filled in the nearby valley (3km from the mine) and forming several lakes (Somido, Carucedo, etc..). Today the area is a wildlife heaven, but piles of waste and fines are still visible, now mainly overgrown.
