Kilmar Railway on the L and CR, below Cheesewring Quarry
The Kilmar Railway, opened with a feast for Directors and quarrymen at Kilmar and Moorswater on 26 August 1858. Here is the section located below the branch(-es) to the Cheesewring Quarry: it leads around the lower slopes of Stowe's Hill to Sharptor Depot, the moorstone workings at Kilmar and Bearah Tor, and was connected to the Trewint Extension of 1884.
