Kemberton Power House (1980)
Side view of the 1870s engine house (looking South-east). It was built to house 2 horizontal-twin cylinder steam winders by John G. Stevenson & Co., Preston, Lancashire. Due to shaft sinking problems the engines were never really used and were sold to a Northern colliery in the 1890s. The building being converted to the electric power house. It survived the closure of the mine in 1967, being used as a council depot, until it was demolished in 1984.
