Kemberton Pit Baths (2004)

View from 'Pit Lane' of Kemberton Pit baths (right) with the 1950s office building (left). Both buildings still survive (2009).

The pithead baths were built in 1940/41 and were very modern for their time. Described by Professor Pevsner in his classic work 'The Buildings of England' as "architecturally specially interesting or important".
