Inside the valve gallery
These are the high pressure inlet valves in their mined chamber deep in the mountain. The nearer valve is shut the one beyond it is open. The yellow weights are raised by hydraulic power and closed by their own weight, the hydraulic rams acting as dampers/dash pots.
