Hydraulic ram

A short distance To The North West of The E shaft (approx. grid ref NZ216701) is the remains of what is described as "Hydraulic Ram" which shows from 1897 map. "Well" is also named nearby however this disappears from later maps.
I'm not actually sure what is/was or that had anything to do with mining in the area, But its a strange relic that's still in situ.
Today its just a hole in the ground that might be removed for the new Spine road that links the top end of Great Park to Kingston Park. Soon the whole area will be Dream Housing. So its unlikely to be saved.
