How Level

How Level was driven from the foot of Ridley's Hush, starting in the middle part of the Main Limestone and then running into shales. The level allowed some ore to be won from the old shafts that descended from the moor above, and was driven over a miles, along with a cross cut, generally however it was not a very profitable undertaking, and was abandoned in 1870.
