Glass Houghton coke works

" In England's green and pleasent land...." Seriously though what a great place, I can still smell that December 1975 day. And what is there now - Xscape - multi-screen cinema, ski slope retail park etc... I know which I prefer! If you look on the horizon, extreme right silhouetted by red sky, just visible, is one of the colliery headframes.
