Foss Barite Mine. 1986

Foss Barite Mine, Aberfeldy, Perthshire. The 670 m. level B1 stope. Pulling ore to a drawpoint by means of a slusher. Broken barite which covers the floor is pulled by this scoop attached to a wire rope wound by a drum to an opening, down which it falls to be collected by an underground dump truck.
