Fawdon E pit shaft cap looking east

Today a concrete shaft cap is the only marker that any industry took place here, there is no "old Shaft" marker, this is probably due to its remote location, although modern housing is being developed all around it with many dog workers oblivious to its past.
The former pit heap is in the distance.
