Clay Tips

'Clay Tip' is the name used to describe these railway wagons. The earliest clay-carrying railway wagons (1895) were wooden bodied, open coal trucks capable of holding a ten ton load.
Loose, casked and bagged clay was carried by coal trucks. These wagons were owned by the Western Region of British Rail and used by ECLP Ltd to carry clay to the deep water port of Fowey.
