Circular Powder Magazine
The mine powder house or magazine was completed on Monday 7th July 1851. Until then black powder was brought by horse and cart from Oughterard ordnance barracks - it's claimed that it sometimes went astray!. The thatched roof was put on by the Geoghegans during restoration in the 1990s.
