Bedlington "A" Pit

This photo of the "Aad" pit is the "A" pit winder, shaft, headgear and screens with the chimney in the background.
The photo was taken beside the powder magazine, with the wall of which surrounded the pit pond in the foreground.
Alan Thirwell (Fitter) is shown leaning against the rail outside the time office and lamp cabin.
The photo was also taken at the same time as the others.
