A typical train in Votty -1936 ?

Here we see the new ruston loco hauling its train of blocks and rubbish. 10 waggons in all, with the brakesman(?) perched on the last slab. (The last pair of wheels on this wagon were NOT turning!). The waste wagons would be destined for Tuxford (imagine those going up an incline at a sharp angle) while the slabs would be for C mill. Notice the chalked on origin of each load so that the tonnages could be appropriately assigned. From "A roof Over Your head"
