25.07.09 Excavated Tramstone, gauge proving on incline to Openwood gate
Excavation of buried Stone Block parallel to the exposed ones still to be seen on the incline in order to get the gauge of the route.. It has always been supposed as being 4'6" and the position of the holes at about 56" apart and given the design of rails used would confirm gauge as approx 4'6" - 4'6.5"
