There were different types of truck, including ones with lids and others for liquid. Supplies of food and fuel must have been sent up to the mine. The area is also very dry, with little snow or rain. The sulphur from the chalcopyrites has given some of the streams at the mine a pH of 2 (strongly acidic). It is possible that water had to be shipped up to mine.
