14 fathom level east

From the top of the manway exploring east one discovers a beautifully calcited passage, in place there are blind workings in the roof. Further along one encounters backfill, here I had to dig my way through for some distance. I originally thought that this was from Nancarrow's operations in the 1930s, but there is too much material to have emanated from one small understope. It most likely came from the east as there are rails in situ east of the backfill that would have made the logistics easy.
