Ystwyth (South Cwmystwyth, Cwmystwyth South) Lead Mine (United Kingdom)


This mine was worked by South Cwmystwyth Mining Company from 1874 to 1878, by the Ystwyth Lead Mining Company from 1879 to 1884, and finally owned by but not worked by Cwmystwyth Mining Company 1902 to 1904. The only returns for this mine is in 1878 when 40 tons are recorded.
The agent 1979 and 1880 was David Williams of Clettwr Hall who also managed other mines in the area.
The mine is mainly a long trial which extends for about 600 metres past the lode where it is cut by the drainage adit to the west.
