You can actually drive to the adit here and park outside it!
In the 1990s I decided to explore it and a crowd gathered to watch me, one chap offered to take bets on whether or not I would come back out.
Regardless of its outside appearance you can stand once inside and it looked hopeful, but after some distance ended at a blockage from a shaft to surface. I could actually look up this and see the 'capping' which was an old door complete with handle on it.
