A long forgotten and possibly never existent mine in unfamiliar country to the point of pick. Styled after "Mudgeon Vean", it lay within the Tremayne portion of the Treloworren Estate, Manorial of the Vyvyan family.
The sole surviving record of this mine is sales advertisement for shares published in 1814. Being the rural in the location that it was, auction was to be held in the local pub.
A rework of this mine was in operation a decade later under the title of Wheal Mexico when flood waters drowned a man employed in shaft sinking.
The valley contains a number of landscaped features adjoining and opposite the road to Tremayne Quay; however none recognisably evidence of mining. The site is managed by the National Trust.
