Wheal Enys (Vernon - Varnon) Tin Mine (United Kingdom)

Parish: WENDRON

Description by Ian Castledine

This small mine worked approx 1853-1859. Very little is known of the set but fortunately the 24" Stamps engine house survives on the slopes of Porkellis Moor. The engine house was thought to have been a dwelling in the past given the additional windows and built up bob wall prior to restoration as a modern dwelling. It has now been tastefully restored and is a fine home.
