This trial for a "load of Wild Lead ... in the cliff on Reskajeage Downs" exploited the spectacular mineralised outcrops in Deadman's Cove. A sett was acquired by Capt'ns Simon & Henry Vivian (not to be confused with the Vyvyan family of Trelowarren) in 1761, conditional that a set amount of driving in the adit was continued annually.
In the driving of the Camborne Sewerage Tunnel - which still discharges in the west corner of the cove - a number of these lodes were cut and saw minor trial on account of the work-starved local miners when neither Geevor or Crofty were hiring.
