Westfield Pumping Pit Coal Mine (United Kingdom)
Sunk 1820. The pits site is on Westfield Road and is easily located as the mines Newcomen Engine House of 1823 still stands complete with small concrete headgear with wheel. Behind it are the mine workshops and to the side is its boiler house. The engine house and boiler house are in nice condition with some original doors and windows. This pit and engine were sunk to pump water away from the nearby Newbiggin Colliery.
