Wardley Coal Colliery (United Kingdom)


Sinking commenced in 1847but then abandoned. Aquired by John Bowes and Partners from George Elliot in 1868 and began producing coal in 1871. By 1911 production had ceased.

In 1959 the Wardley Colliery was re-opened and merged with Follonsby Colliery. The colliery was abandoned in 1974.
