Waldridge Fell Coal Mine (United Kingdom)


The site first worked as a Barytes Quarry by the Smithy-Dene Quarry Co Ltd. The coal drifts were added in 1952 working the Five Quarter Seam thereafter as purely a coal mine until closure, the mine being abandoned around 1990. By June 1994 the adits were filled and the site totally obliterated.
