Voltenne (Volta) Fluorite Mine (France)

This fluorite mine was in activity from 1861 to 1972 and the
six veins delivered 300000 tons of fluorine ore at 83%. Most of the easy
entrances have been dynamited or filled since, but there remain long (>500m) and deep (down to 160m) trenches that one can explore with some rope techniques.
The veins ranges in thickness from 80cm to 10 meters.
