Vigsnes (Visnes) Copper Mine (Norway)

On the island of Karmoy, close to Haugesund, north of Stavanger.
Mines were run by a French company and the ore produced here was used to produce the copper used in the Statue of Liberty. The ore was smelted here also for a short period.
Now a mining museum on the surface. All underground workings now flooded.
