Troopers Hill Clay Mine (United Kingdom)


The lease was granted in 1886 and the fireclay mines extended right under the hill and continued in use until abandoned in 1908. Two seams of clay were mined the five feet thick Dibb Clay and the deeper six feet thick Buff Clay.
