Ti-Tree Copper Mine (Australia)


An open-cut copper mine working low grade ore hosted in a hematite-magnetite-garnet skarn on the contact of Chillagoe Formation limestone and an intrusive granite. Cu grade was ca. 1 - 3%. Production during the period 1923 to 1942 totalled 32,800 tones for a yield of 400 tons of copper, 18,800 oz Ag and 1,760 oz Au.
