South Wheal Frances (Basset Group) Mixed Mine (United Kingdom)

ICLOK - Brief Description, This mine was last worked from Marriott's Shaft as part of the Basset group of mines. The most obvious structure is Marriott's 40"/80" engine house in the end of which is the brick lined circular shaft itself some 500 Fathoms deep. There are many other buildings in the area such as the dry and boiler houses etc forming a very extensive monument to Basset mines. The extensive dumps associated with the mine have been levelled and landscaped.
Below this site at SW676395 are the pumping and whim engine houses with boiler houses around Pascoe's shaft, these form an exceptionally well preserved duo.
