Quebrada Bianca Copper Mine (Chile)


The Quebrada Blanca mine is located in northern Chile approximately 170 kilometres southeast of the port city of Iquique and 1,500 kilmetres north of Santiago. The mine is located at an elevation of more than 4,000 metres.

The mine is an open-pit truck-and-shovel operation, employing standard drilling and blasting techniques. The mine processing facilities produce copper cathode by utilizing crushing, agglomerating, stacking, heap leaching, dump leaching and solvent extraction and electrowinning (SX-EW) processes.
The copper cathode produced is trucked to the Chilean port of Iquique for shipment to purchasers.
