Park Drift Coal Mine (United Kingdom)

This mine was developed in 1983 by Park Drift Mine Ltd and was in full production by 1986. Two drifts were used, one for materials at 1 in 3 and one for coal at 1in 7. The colliery started by working the Harvey Seam but this was exhausted by 1997 so attention was turned to the Tilley seam, both seams being approx 30" thick. This was the last coal mine to work in County Durham.
