Park ('Stones') Coal Colliery (United Kingdom)


1918 owner J & R Stones Ltd, Garswood, Wigan until nationalisation in 1947. Seams Worked; Wigan, Five, Four and Nine Feet, Arley, Orrell Five Feet & later Pemberton 5ft. Three shafts sunk, No.3 used as an escape route.
Reconstructed in the 1950's
Closed 1959, Last NCB colliery in Ashton In Makerfield.
Rail connection to L & Y W R Lancashire Union Line to the East of Garswood station.
